Tooth Brushing Made Easy: Spiffies by Richele McFarlin |
Families.com

Developing proper dental habits is important to teach at a young age. The sooner you begin the more habitual the routine will become. A child who is used to tooth brushing will be less resistant to parental help. After all, who wants someone brushing their teeth for them? Proper dental care comes by way of habit training. Spiffies can help develop that habit for your children. Spiffies can pave the way to proper dental care from the infant stage with their Spiffies Tooth Wipes. A product I wish I had when my little ones were still infants. Can you imagine the simplicity in just wiping a wipe across your baby's teeth? That will begin the forming of habits and hopefully less cavities in the future. For older children, Spiffies, offers a fluoride free tooth gel. The product can be used for a child as young as 6 months and through the preschool years. Children often complain about the taste and texture of toothpaste which leads to tooth brushing resistant children. My little ones would often say the toothpaste was too "spicy". It would cause great debate on whether brushing teeth was really necessary between us. They would finally retreat but only brush for a few seconds. And we are talking about some of the kid's toothpaste. In addition, I do not allow toothpastes that contain fluoride in my home for any age. The choices for children in this area were not vast. Thankfully, Spiffies, uses a fluoride free, SLS free, non gritty, toothpaste that a child can swallow. It is non-foaming and tastes mild enough to ward off the "spicy" protests. Spiffies uses xylitol to power their tooth gel. Xylitol is noted for preventing cavities. If you are seeking a safe and mild tasting tooth gel your child will use then check out Spiffies. They also offer an oval shaped toothbrush which is fun for little ones and safe!

Blogger Reviews Here are some recent blogs mostly from moms who love Spiffies! Spiffies do help to prevent tooth decay in children and as an added plus, little ones do like the taste and texture of Spiffies toothwipes, powered by xylitol! "It is recommended that children over the age of two visit a dentist regularly. Our dental plan and dentist told us it wasn't necessary until age three. Developing teeth are susceptible to tooth decay and cavities. It is important to start a daily cleaning routine, even before teeth have broken the surface, to help maintain proper oral health." mommieswithcents.com "Wipe away that tooth decay before it happens! Really. And I promise the kids will have fun in the process, too. My kids loved the taste of these wipes so I can guarantee they are kid approved in my household! They were really easy to use when I took them for a test run with my kids. They loved the flavors - baby grape and baby apple. (There is also a flavor called MMM Mango but we didn't try that one yet.) And of course the kids were fascinated by the novelty of using a little wipe all over their teeth, gums and inside their mouth." lifetimemoms.com "When you think about your baby's health you think about vitamins, fruits & vegetables, lots of rest, and making sure they can't stick their fingers in the electrical outlet. However, if you're like me you don't always think about their teeth. I know I'm guilty of waiting way too long to schedule their first dentist appointment or even getting them in the habit of brushing at that early age because let's face it, it's just not a fun thing to do. Pediatrician-invented Spiffies baby tooth wipes are a tasty way to introduce dental hygiene to little ones. But how does my daughter like it? She really liked it! She willingly opened her mouth each time and didn't even fuss once. In fact, she got so mad when I had to take it away that she crawled after me wanting the Spiffies back. If you want an easier and more convenient way to take care of your baby's teeth, give Spiffies a try." islandlife808.com "At only 24 months, my daughter has yet to see a dentist to check out her teeth (mental note, make first dentist appointment!), but has been seen numerous times throughout the last two years by her pediatrician, who does a cursory glance at her teeth each time we visit. While this is nice to get feedback and advice for my daughter's growing teeth, I am looking forward to introducing her to a dentist for the first time. In the meantime, I am really happy to have Spiffies Wipes which I pair with her beginning toddler tooth brush whenever possible so she can practice taking care of her teeth by herself. And then when we don't have her toothbrush handy, the Spiffies Baby Tooth Wipes are an even more important part of the morning and bedtime routine and make me feel better if we're not able to brush." raveandreview.typepad.com At some point it dawned on me that I had no clue how to take care of my daughter's new teeth. I looked everywhere and had such a hard time finding any information about things like how to brush her teeth and when to make her first dentist appointment. So, imagine my surprise when I discovered that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your baby sees a dentist when their first tooth appears or no later than their first birthday. Suddenly I felt like I had let her down by not making sure her brand new teeth were as healthy as they could be and I wondered how many other new parents out there felt the same way. So, when the opportunity presented itself to review Spiffies Tooth Wipes I jumped at the chance to not only review a great product but maybe share with you some knowledge that I wish I had known myself." blog.theartofbeingmom.com "I really like that you can use these even before the first teeth erupt, getting your little one in the habit of having their gums & teeth cleaned. Hollis seems to enjoy all the flavors and didn't fight me at all when it came time to clean his teeth and gums! Really like that Spiffies come individually packaged, so I can take a few with me in the diaper bag when we are on the go to clean his teeth after bottles or feedings while we are out." realmomsrealviews.com
